Week 5: Lesson and Assignments 

Compare and Contrast in Literature

During our week 5 lesson, we will become familiar with Comparing and Contrasting different passages and literature. Readers compare and contrast the information found in different stories. This helps readers understand what they are reading. This also helps them remember important points. Readers can compare and contrast the plots, settings, and characters of different stories. This allows readers to see what is the same and what is different about the stories. When you compare, you tell how things are the same.  When you contrast, you tell how things are different. 

To complete this week’s assignment online: 
1. Watch the "Compare and Contrast" Lesson Video prepared by your teachers (this is in the Week 5 study guide and Lesson video section) 
2.  After watching the  video - Complete the attached Compare and Contrast in Literature Assignment
3.  Extension Activity (This is optional / it does NOT have to be completed) : Once you have completed the attached assignment, you can complete the Study Island Compare and Contrast assignment in your assignments
