Reading : This week we are working on our story "The Man Who Invented Basketball", which is an example of a biography.  A biography is a story of a person's life written by another person. Our skill focus will be generalize and summarize. 

*Generalize- When you read about how several things are alike in some way, you can make a general statement about them. A general statement uses words like most, many, all of, or few.

Grammar: Our focus will be on Singular and Plural Pronouns.  Pronouns are a words that take the place of nouns.  Pronouns that take the place of singular nouns are called Singular Pronouns,  Pronouns that take the place of plural nouns are called Plural Pronouns.

WEEK OF: April 20th - 24th, 2015

**PSSA Testing will continue testing on Tuesday 4/21, Wednesday 4/22, and Thursday 4/23. Students will be taking the Math Test next week.   We will have not have special classes on testing days.

**Math –We will continue working with Area-Topic 14 next week on Monday and Friday. Continue to practice basic math facts daily.

**Science- On Monday and Friday of next week we will work on Lesson 2 about how living things get energy. We will be discussing food chains and food webs.

WEEK OF: April 13th - 17th, 2015

~ PSSA Testing this week ~ 

Get a good night's sleep and eat a healthy breakfast

 

 

 

**PSSA Testing will be on Tuesday 4/14, Wed. 4/15, and Thursday 4/16.  Students will be taking the Language and Reading Test next week.  Each day students will begin the day with a snack provided by the school.  We will test each morning until 11 in our classrooms. Students who need more time will be taken to another room to complete their test.  We will have no special classes on testing days.

WEEK OF: April 6th - 10th, 2015

Reading — We will continue with the story Around One Cactus next week. e are working on Cause and Effect, as well as Prefixes and Suffixes. *Grammar – We will keep working on Irregular Plurals next week.  We plan on testing Wed. 4/8.

*Math – Topic 14 involves lessons on AREA.  We will work with Area next week.  Continue to practice basic math facts daily.

PSSA PREP--- We will continue completing pages in our prep books and taking practice tests. We will also work on writing samples. PSSA testing begins on April 14^th.
