**Reading—we will continue with the story Rocks in His Head. **Spelling—we will take our Final Test on Prefixes on Monday 4/28.  

**Grammar—Adjectives and Articles are our focus in Grammar.  We will take a Quiz on Friday 5/2.

**Math – We will begin Topic 12 Time on Monday.  We will also be working on Dividing by 4 for our timed facts. Check out the “TO DO” list on our Math Pearson Successnet Website Link.  You can view our Math videos and review our lesson for the day.

**Science—The Crayfish were here and no they’re gone!  They have all moved to happy homes to live out the remainder of their days…..3 to 8 years!!!  We will be focusing on our next living organisms...wait for it…….. ……..BEATLEMANIA is coming in two weeks!!!!! We will be preparing by learning all about these famous orgamisms!!!

WEEK OF: April 21 - 25, 2014


**Reading --- Next week we will be starting a new story called Rocks in His Head.  This story is an example of Biography.  The skill we will work on is Generalization. ** Spelling --- On Monday we will begin a new Spelling list.  Our words are all made by adding one of the following PREFIXES pre-, mid-, over-, or out-. The PreTest will be on Thursday 4/24 and the Final Test the following week.

**Grammar--- We will be working on Adjectives and Articles in Grammar next week. Adjectives tell more about a noun and describe it.  Articles are special kinds of adjectives.

**Math --- We will be finishing up Topic 11 in Math with a Test on Friday.  Please continue to review geometric information because we have covered a lot of things with this topic.    

**Science --- Review Vocab and Content all week for our Test on the Crayfish on Friday. We have observed, recorder facts, and had a lot of fun with the crayfish but the TIME has come for them to go!!!  You will find an adoption paper in your child’s Friday Folder today.  Please fill out and return by Wed. 4/23.  We will be picking on Wed. so if you want a chance to have one of these adorable creatures return your form ASAP. Families need time to prepare for the homecoming which will be on Friday 4/25.

WEEK OF: April 14th - 18th, 2014


**Reading— we will have a vocabulary quiz on Wed. and story test on Thurs.  Our story Hottest, Coldest, Highest, Deepest is an example of Expository Nonfiction.  It is about nature’s record holders and how they fascinate us.  The skill for this story is compare and contrast. 

**Spelling— our list is made up of words with a controlled r.  A vowel followed by an r has a sound that is neither long nor short, but r-controlled. **Grammar—we are working on Subject and Object Pronouns.  Our quiz will be on Wed. 4/16

- When a pronoun is used as the subject of a sentence, it is called a subject pronoun. I, you, he, she, it, we, and they are subject pronouns.

*      - Pronouns that are used after action verbs or as objects of prepositions are called object pronouns. Me, you, him, her, it, us, and them are object pronouns.

*       

**Math – We will continue with Topic 11 Two-Dimensional Shapes and their Attributes.  We will work on lessons 5-9. We will discuss Lines, Angles, Polygons and Quadrilaterals in this geometry topic.  Please continue to practice times tables.  We will be starting timed tests on division facts. 

**Science—We will continue to work with our crayfish
