**Last day of PSSA Testing is Monday 4/7.

**Reading— We will begin the next story in Unit 4 called Hottest, Coldest, Highest, Deepest. This story is an example of Expository Nonfiction.  It is about nature’s record holders and how they fascinate us.  The skill for this story is compare and contrast.

**Spelling— Our new list is made up of words with a controlled r.  A vowel followed by an r has a sound that is neither long nor short, but r-controlled. We will take a PreTest on Friday 4/11.  You can practice your list words at Spelling City site http://www.spellingcity.com/view-spelling-list.html?listId=551221

**Grammar—Subject and Object Pronouns will be what we will work on next.

*      - When a pronoun is used as the subject of a sentence, it is called a subject pronoun. I, you, he, she, it, we, and they are subject pronouns.

*      - Pronouns that are used after action verbs or as objects of prepositions are called object pronouns. Me, you, him, her, it, us, and them are object pronouns.

**Math – We will begin Topic 11 Two-Dimensional Shapes and their Attributes.  We will discuss Lines, Angles, Polygons and Quadrilaterals in this geometry topic.  Please continue to practice times tables.  We will be starting timed tests on division facts.

**Science— If you haven’t heard that the CRAYFISH are here you must be living under a rock!!  Although, that’s exactly where you might find a crayfish if you’re looking.  We will be studying the structures and behaviors of these curious creatures in Science.
