Hottest, Coldest, Highest, Deepest is an example of Expository Nonfiction. It is about nature’s record holders and how
they fascinate us. The skill for this
story is compare and contrast.
**Spelling—
our list is made up of words with a controlled r. A vowel followed by an r has a sound that is
neither long nor short, but r-controlled. We will take a final test on Tues.

**Grammar—we
are working on Subject and Object Pronouns.

- When
a pronoun is used as the subject of a sentence, it is called a subject
pronoun. I, you, he, she, it, we,
and they are subject pronouns.
- Pronouns
that are used after action verbs or as objects of prepositions are called object
pronouns. Me, you, him, her, it,
us, and them are object
pronouns.
**Math
– We will continue with Topic 11 Two-Dimensional Shapes and their
Attributes. We will work on lessons 5-9.
We will discuss Lines, Angles, Polygons and Quadrilaterals in this geometry
topic. Please continue to practice times
tables. We will be starting timed tests
on division facts.
**Science—We
