WEEK OF: March 3rd - 7th, 2014

**Reading – We will begin our new story “Volcanoes: Nature’s Incredible Fireworks” on Monday of this week.  This story is an example of Expository Nonfiction where the stoy gives facts and information. **Spelling – Our spelling list is made up of words with silent letters wr, kn, mb, and gn.  There will be a pretest on Wed. 3/5/14 and Final test on 3/7/14. You can practice your spelling list words on Spelling City Website: http://www.spellingcity.com/view-spelling-list.html?listId=551216

 

**Grammar – We will focus on Irregular verbs in Grammar this week. Usually you add -ed to a verb to show action in the past. Irregular verbs do not follow this rule. Instead of ending in -ed to show past time, these verbs change to other words. When have, has, or had comes before these verbs, a third form of the word is used.

He has gone.

 

**Math – We will finish up Topic 9 this week and have a topic test on Wednesday (3/5/14).  We will begin Topic 10 (Fraction Comparisons) on Thursday this week.
