Week of: January 26th - 30th, 2015


**Reading — Next week we will be starting Unit 3 which contains stories about how people and nature are connected.  The first story is an example of Expository Text called How Do You Raise a Raisin?   The comprehension skill we will be working on with this story is Drawing Conclusions while the Vocabulary skill will be Homophones. 

**Spelling – Our new spelling list is made up of Contractions.  We will take a PreTest on Wed. 1/28 and the Final Test on Friday 1/30. 

**Grammar – Verbs will be our focus for this Unit.  We will start with identifying Action and Linking Verbs.  We will have a Quiz on Friday 1/30.

**Math – We are continuing with Topic 11 Two-Dimensional Shapes and Their Attributes.  We will be working on Lessons 8 and 9 followed by some review of this Topic.  We will be having a Matching Picture/Vocab Test on Friday 1/30   

**Science—We will be investigating animal traits and behaviors inherited from parents  in Lesson 2. Please continue to review vocab.
